Our basecamp at Turquoise Lake in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska

New Frontiers in Alaska
Father / Daughter Retreat

Coming Alive in the Wilderness

We are leading a group of men on a trip to Turquoise Lake, in Lake Clark National Park, a remote jewel of the Alaskan parks system. It is a microcosm of Alaska that showcases its stunning beauty and its awe-inspiring mammals including grizzly, wolf, moose, Dall sheep, caribou, and wolverine.

We'll fly by float-plane to Turquoise Lake, our base-camp. Each day we'll set out on daily hikes across the roadless and trackless alpine tundra, taking in spectacular views of surrounding peaks, and crossing glacial streams. Your adventure will be supplemented by retreat activities, designed to heighten your experience and create a strong cohesive community. Such activities will include tai chi, qi gong, meditation, journaling, and nightly circle. Each day you'll have private time to reflect and integrate your experience and to fish or kayak. Our guide service, Alaska Alpine Adventures, was selected by National Geographic as one of the "Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth for 2009." They are known for their upbeat spirit, their generosity in teaching outdoors skills, and their surprisingly delicious back-country meals.
